苗栗監理站蘇站長淑賢表示，因應5月1日台鐵不加班，鐵路全面停開，連假期間將派駐監理站同仁於竹南火車站、苗栗火車站及三義火車站現場引導民眾轉乘及視實際需要調派地區公共運輸服務來服務民眾，確保交通維持計畫順利運作並期能即時處理各種突發狀況，請大家協助一同落實防疫措施、平安出門，安心乘車。
蘇淑賢站長表示，因應台鐵5月1日休假停駛所有班次列車的運輸衝擊，部署協調各項替代方案，以確保苗栗縣境內運輸服務不中斷，自苗栗縣往返新竹縣市的旅客，可搭乘苗栗客運5801、5802及5803等路線，共計77班；自竹南往新竹的旅客，可搭乘5802、5803、5804及5823等路線，共計54班次，另有加開5802A自竹南火車站至新竹火車站，共計16班次，請民眾多加利用公路客運iBus APP查詢。

苗栗監理站表示，往臺中大甲的旅客，可自苗栗火車站東站左側搭乘苗栗客運「【5814】苗栗─大甲(經山腳)」，沿途行經南勢、銅鑼、通霄、苑裡等車站，苗栗客運另有「【5808】」路線沿海線經後龍、通霄及苑裡，往豐原可自苗栗火車站東站右側搭乘新竹客運「【5664】苗栗─三義(經銅鑼)」路線至三義火車站轉乘類火車「【0971】路線」前往豐原，三義往豐原地區規劃遊覽車以類火車方式停靠泰安、后里、豐原等站，往返每小時開行一班，自上午6時到晚上10時，民眾需先進三義火車站刷卡買票後，將有監理站或台鐵服務員引導上車，有需要搭乘民眾，可多利用。
欲前往搭乘高鐵的乘客，建議可於竹南火車站東站或苗栗火車站西站搭乘金牌客運「【101】」市區客運路線，或自苗栗火車站東站左側搭乘苗栗客運「【5815】、【5816】」路線，或於苗栗市中正路「北苗站」搭乘苗栗客運「【5803】」路線，苗栗客運另有「【5807(A)】新竹─後龍(經頭份、高鐵苗栗站)」、「【5808】苑裡─高鐵苗栗站(經後龍、通霄)」、「【5816】苗栗─外埔(經後龍、高鐵苗栗站)」等路線有行經苗栗高鐵站，請民眾多加利用。
另外，前往臺北的旅客還有國道客運路線可以選擇，可以搭乘國光客運「【1823】臺北─竹南」及「【1824】臺北─苗栗」路線，呼籲長途旅客及早購買預售票，才可確保行程不被耽誤。
